By the time we got Justin's monstrosity of a new couch into our living room, we were at a loss of where to put the Christmas tree. We decided that the dining room would have to do. After Christmas last year, we bought a six foot pre-lit tree for $25 after Wal-Mart had an overstock of them and needed to sell them fast. It worked perfectly in the small space we had for it..

We worried that Shadow would make a quick lunch of the tree and its ornaments. However, she appeared to be amused by it and enjoyed sleeping under it as well.
In looking back, now that Shadow is living with a new family, I have to be thankful for the gift that Shadow was to our family for the three months we had her. She taught my boys what true responsibility for another is, she taught JJ what love for a pet is, she taught the little boys gentleness...I'm glad she was with us through Christmas as the boys got great joy and laughter out of giving her the toys they bought for her and playing with her and with her toys.
