Today was the first time I've taken the kids to my parents' house to sled. The older boys went and stayed over night one weekend so they've been out already. However, this is the first time the little boys have been out there this year.
We arrived around noon and the boys headed out to sled around 12:30. Tanner, JJ, and Hayden were gung-ho and eager to get a trail made and try all the different sleds my parents had for them to use. Lucas wasn't interested one bit.
The boys stayed out for an hour or so, Tanner coming in first and JJ and Hayden taking many more runs before coming in themselves. They played inside for the afternoon, got some snuggle time with grandma, watched a movie, and then we had dinner around 5:30.
After dinner, the boys headed out with Jesko for a bit more sledding. I think they found this time more exciting because Jesko helped build up their ramp and rode on the bigger sleds with them as well. Lucas even went out the second time. He was doing well until he lay back on his sled and veered off the path. When his sled hit the packed snow, the sled stopped and Lucas kept going right into the snow drift. He was definitely not impressed with being covered with snow!
A good day it was!
We ended our cold day with a warm visit with Grandpa and Grandma Wise. The boys were in true form and wrestled and laughed and pushed all the buttons on my grandma's singing stuffed animals. They never cease to put on a good show to keep my Grandma and Grandpa laughing.
Love to all! Stay warm!
