Thursday night was our annual trip to Hoss's Restaurant in Meadville to gather as a family to eat dinner before the new year. This year we numbered thirty-four. We also had a few new faces around the table as Grandpa and Grandma McCurdy, Uncle Larry & Aunt Brenda, and Jesko and Michal joined us. My four boys enjoyed going from person to person throughout the night. Lucas laid claim to Paige for most of the night, but he enjoyed hanging out with Uncle Brad and Amy too. We love Hoss's so our bellies were full of good food and we had a great time talking and spending time with everyone.
While we were eating, we realized that Jesko and Michal's
families were already celebrating the new year in Germany
and Poland respectively.
Being as Lucas' birthday is Saturday, we decided to let them sing to him at dinner.
Bryce was his support while the "strangers" sang to him.
Lucas did a great job blowing the candle out.
Then came the cake. I was thinking I'd cut him a small
piece and then we'd let the others kids have a small piece.
However, Lucas wasn't having any of that! Before I could
cut it, Lucas licked the entire top of the cake!!
