New Year's Eve at David & Erin's House

New Year's eve spent with the cousins...The event all the boys look forward to.
David and Erin host quite the bash complete with yummy, yummy food...wings, a Pretzel Factory platter, meat/cheese tray, chips, mini cheesecakes.
Justin, the boys, and I arrived around 8:30ish after finishing our new year's dinner in Meadville.
Our bellies were stuffed, but that didn't stop everyone from digging into the food that was ready at the party. It didn't take the boys long to start their Rock Band concert either. The video I have wouldn't load, so I'll work on it and add it later.
The boys had such a good time that night. I think there are many reasons why they like New Year's Eve: 1. They get to hang out and stay up all night. 2. They get to eat lots of junk food. 3. We truly leave them alone and don't nag them about being wild or loud.

"Uncle James" and Tam came this year bringing their little boy Brandon to join the fun. He was a hoot and he has the bluest eyes I've ever seen! And he even thinks his Uncle Dave is funny!
For a special treat for the boys, I made sprite strawberry daiquiris. Erin had plastic glasses for them to use and they thought it was great fun!

For the big event, the countdown, I brought popper things that shoot string out of them.
The adults had champagne and the kids had sparkling pear juice to toast with.

Cheers! Happy New Years!!

After the countdown, the adults watched a movie and the played
some more Rock Band. The boys finally crashed at about 2:30am.
Our four boys went to sleep on our queen-size air mattress. Tanner, JJ,
and Hayden laying the normal way and Lucas laying across the bottom.
Wesley and Cameron slept in Cam's room. However, when we woke up a few hours
later, we found that Cameron had made his way to the air mattress and the boys were
stacked like sardines...Hayden and JJ laying where they were but Tanner had turned
and he was laying at the opposite end with Cameron and Lucas.

The boys did a pretty good job of letting the parents get some sleep. After the kids went to sleep the adults played Rock Band for an hour or two before calling it quits for the night.
When we got up, the lord of the kitchen (aka David) made a breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, and pancakes. We all headed home around 10:00 and you'd have thought the boys had forgotten what a blast they had the night before. They didn't want to leave and they were back to their same argument that we never let them have fun! Oh well! It was great while it lasted.
Thanks to David & Erin for hosting a great party!
The boys are already talking about next year.
