True to our word, Hayden became binky free last night. However, it was not a smooth or happy occasion. We have been telling him for weeks and weeks that when he turned four he would not be allowed to have a binky anymore. We tried this last year but we gave into the crying.
Saying that Hayden threw a fit last night would not clearly define his behavior. He cried and screamed and whined and tried to make deals... The big meany mom did not cave and she had to send the big caring daddy out of the room so he wouldn't give in and give the boy his binky!
Once asleep, he was fine which was no surprise as he has gone to sleep without his binky many times before - like when he couldn't find a binky anywhere (although the next day he'll find three or more!)
However, this morning it began all over again. He NEEDED his binky! He had to have his binky! Tears were shed, but we (or maybe I) am adamant that we are going to be binky free for good. Justin told Hayden that the binky birthday fairy came last night and took them all away.
Justin had two in the cupboard in his bathroom hidden away so if Hayden couldn't find one in the past, we knew where those two were. However, this morning, they too were gone. Justin swears he doesn't know where they went - so either the binky fairy really came or Justin is fibbing or Hayden found them and is hiding them away himself! We may never know.

Good for you Mandie...keep up the good work! I am sure in a few days he'll hardly mention it again! Although these next few days won't be easy to endure! Stay diligent!
