The red flags came down today allowing the boys to swim in the water for "real". Justin, Starcher, Tanner, and Jared headed out on their own for a while and made for the sand bar. I think their vacation finally began when they got there. It's not the Outer Banks if you don't hang out on the sand bar!! Tanner's also becoming very skilled on Justin's skim board.
JJ took a long walk this morning with Carla and LeAnne. He's pretty content to stay out of the ocean this year. He enjoys walking in the surf and hunting down cool looking shells.
Hayden was finally bit by the tired bug today and just kind of moped around. He spent a good deal of time in the hot tub once again. However, around dinner time he put himself in bed and didn't come out for quite some time.
Lucas had a good morning until he got a foot full of splinters. We have gotten most of them out, but there are still some in there. To say that he screamed does not even begin to describe the noise that came out of that child while we were digging in his foot. The ones left are tiny so we are trying to spare him more trauma and see if they work themselves out. He's still a movie addict. For pond attendees, just like he enjoyed staying in the camper and watching Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, he's doing the same here, except Bedtime Stories is his absolute favorite now. I think he has honestly watched it about twelve times in three days.
Here's some pictures of the sand village Justin, Tanner, Hayden, and JJ made this morning. Justin was cracking me up as he sought the perfect shells to decorate his town with!
Then the raider came and the town didn't stand a chance.
The raider was joined by several other small raiders and the town was soon demolished!
Oh well, a new one can be built tomorrow!
We're getting tan. We're eating good. We're having fun!
