Tanner is the second generation of McCurdy boys to attend JIM Club. My brother, Blair, began going to camp when he was nine. Tanner is currently there, along with my mom and Emily who are cooking this week.
His first sermon to learn is "A Dollars Worth of Something" and according to my mom's report today, he is closing in on getting it approved. Before he left, he told us that he'd only stay for one week while my mom was there. However, he is adamant that he is staying both weeks and would like to stay longer if possible. He's taking magic class this week, so he'll have a new trick and message to show us when he gets home.
According to my mom, he's the youngest boy at camp, he's the smallest boy at camp, and yet he's somehow "running" the show! That doesn't surprise me. He's always had a way with older peers and knows how to present himself in a variety of settings. He's loving camp, loving playing hoops with the older boys, and loving learning new things.
My dad, Blair, the other three boys, and I will be going up on Saturday to visit. I'll update then on how Tanner's doing with his sermon and magic trick.
