A day with Grandma Debbie - 12/26/11

The day after Christmas, Justin's dad, Justin, and Tanner got up early and headed out hunting for the day. Justin's mom wanted to do something special with the other three boys and she had several ideas:

After breakfast, we got started on icing cookies. Hayden and JJ did a great job and actually iced them appropriately. They did get a little overboard with the sprinkles, but who doesn't?

Lucas was a whole different story. He's put half the bowl of icing on one cookie! He definitely doesn't understand what 'a little goes a long way' means : )

After icing cookies and eating a quick lunch, we headed into Pittsburgh to take the boys up the Duquesne Incline. Justin and I have never taken our boys up, so it was definitely a new, exciting trip for them.

There was a large group in front of us, so we had to wait while they headed up. After watching the car head up the "mountain", Lucas was convinced that there was no way he was getting on that thing and going up the "mountain". I practically had to drag him into the car and hold him in it until it the door close and it started up.

As we rose up the "mountain", all three boys got braver when they realized how cool the view was. It was even better that the higher we got the better they could see the Steelers' stadium.

When we got to the top and headed out to the observation deck, they plastered themselves to the railing awed at the view of the city and river below.

Here's the boys posing by the car we just exited. Lucas was much happier post trip than he was pre-trip.

After leaving Pittsburgh, we headed back to Cranberry for ice cream sundaes.

The boys had a blast and Tanner was a little jealous when he heard all we'd done. However, he had to admit that he enjoyed hunting with his dad and grandpa at the same time.

Thanks Deb for a great day and thanks Chuck for giving Justin and Tanner a great day!
