An Afternoon at McConnell's Mills

A beautiful day after months of blah, snowy/rainy days + four boys with cabin fever=

a much needed picnic and romp at McConnell's Mills

Apparently, noone ever taught Lucas how to use a fireman pole. He kept going down it until he could do it smoothly. He was quite proud of himself!

Um, the signs that say "Stay on the path" never apply to our family. We are more of an off-the-beaten-path kind of family. If there's a mountain, we must scale it - up and down; if there's a waterfall, we must get behind it.

Down the mountain we go...

We saw a whole crew of kayakers and a few big rafts go by. The river was rough that day!

The boys loved it and of course wanted to know when they could go rafting like that.

Hayden and Lucas loved that they could do everything their big brothers did!

Back up the mountain we go...

Tanner even found a little piece of winter still hiding out between rocks!

Hayden, Lucas, and I walked the path down to the covered bridge.

Justin, Tanner, and JJ scaled back up the waterfall and then drove down with the car to meet us.

Lucas thought the dam was very cool.

Hayden just thought he was cool!

(and no he doesn't have to go to the bathroom - it just looks that way!!)
