For his 10th birthday, Hayden wanted pancakes for breakfast and new inline skates. He also wanted a pogo stick. I am not a morning person, so I made the pancakes the night before and then reheated them for him for breakfast. He was very excited to have a candle in them.
He was also very excited to receive inline skates from Justin's parents and a "real" pogo stick from my parents. My carpet is soon going to have permanent skate tracks from how much he skates around the house. If he's not doing that, he's pogo-ing in the basement. He can't wait to get outside and use them.
Lucas wanted Hoss's for his birthday dinner and was excited to get a cake from them. However, anyone who has ever eaten with our family knows that Hayden and Lucas take two trips to the bathroom each during every meal. It was during Lucas' second, more time consuming ;) trip that the waitress brought his cake. Justin told her he was in the restroom and she said she'd watch for him to come out and come back then. So we waited, and we waited, and we waited, and finally he came back. She brought the cake, they sang, he grinned, and all was well. We told him that the waitress had come earlier when he was in the bathroom and had to wait. His response? "Bet she had to wait a while cuz I was taking a super poop!" And let's just say he wasn't whispering when he said this so the people around us got quite a chuckle out of his little outburst of fun facts. Ugh! This child!
