In early summer each year, my dad drains the pond. Because of where the drain is located it can't be completely drain, but that actually serves a good purpose as the fish usually all have enough water to survive while it's drained and cleaned out of weeks and muck.
The boys enjoyed the pond a little earlier this year and loved that they could walk to the dock. My dad had just diverted the spring back to the pond from the stream, so the water was absolutely freezing. However, add a bit of sunshine to some boys looking for fun and it made a great day.

Who knows what he's doing...

When you can walk to the dock and you can obviously touch the bottom... a mud slinging war is sure to begin!

And a mud slinging war leads to an all-out king of the dock war...

which then leads to a water throwing war!

Which will almost always end with the little boys escaping and going off on their own adventures!

And Lucas isn't content with one raft. He must have them all!
