A coworker offered me tickets to the Lake Erie Speedway one Friday night, so we packed up the crew and headed north. What we were surprised to discover is that my Aunt Joy, Brett, and Bryce were also on their way there. We've never been, so we were excited to be in the company of racing pros :)
The first thing we had to do was check out the inflatable play park for the kids while we waited for the races to begin.
And then it was race time!
There were so many different styles of cars...the boys loved it!
What we didn't necessarily anticipate was the noise...race cars are LOUD!!
It didn't start out too bad as they were doing warm up laps...
but once they really got started, the ear plugging began...
until we realized that wasn't working very well.
Thankfully the souvenir stand was selling "ear mufflers"
The little boys thought they were definitely cool at that point!
JJ got the "big boy" ear plugs and thought they were pretty cool.
We had a blast and I think Joy, Brett, and Bryce got a kick out of seeing
the boys experience their first live race car event!
And there is no better end to a fun evening than fireworks...
