If you talk to my mom, Hayden, or Lucas on a Saturday evening then you'll soon learn that the word Chinese is not just reserved as a language, people group, or type of food. It is a place.
If you're at my parents' house on a Saturday evening and you ask Hayden or Lucas where they want to go for dinner, they will most certainly say, "To chinese."
If you are me and you're at my parents' house on a Saturday evening, you pray that no one asks to eat out because the place of choice just isn't my heart's desire.
My parents' have actually become regulars at the Chinese Buffet in Meadville. They are seriously there almost every Saturday night. The owners know them and they know my kids and my nephews enough to know who's missing on a given Saturday. My parents think it's funny. Me? Being a regular at Olive Garden would be more up my alley : )
My boys love the fresh food buffet that you can take to the lady at the grill who will "cook it up" for them. Hayden and Lucas are eating things that make my skin crawl just thinking about eating. JJ has always loved Chinese food. He and Justin often share little jaunts to the Chinese buffet by our house. Tanner, who is my most picky eater, has become a Chinese food fanatic! My kids are slowly morphing into my husband. Pretty soon I'll be the lone "picky eater" at our table. I must say that I'm okay with that title!
Justin loves that my parents go there and he loves it even more that the boys have picked one of his favorite foods as one of theirs. I'm still waiting until my mom gives me permission to hide a small order of KFC popcorn chicken in my purse : )
