Justin got a text from a friend yesterday indicating that he had a puppy that had been dropped off and the owner said if a new home couldn't be found he was going to either let it loose in the woods or shoot it. Justin threw me the phone, gave me his best puppy dog eyes, and said he'd found Lucas's Christmas present.
Justin called the guy, got the scoop on the dog, and told him to bring her over for him to look at. Did he honestly think he or the kids would be able to let the thing leave once it got here? I think not. The boys were all smitten as soon as the puppy got out of the car.
Justin, of course, said yes to the dog. The poor friend's son began to cry because he was sad he couldn't keep her but they already have several dogs. We told him he could definitely come over to play with her anytime.
As Lucas and I drove to Wal-Mart to get puppy supplies, I asked him his dog's name was. He said, "Her name is Shadow and her collar will be pink."
So, this is Shadow (English bulldog/lab mix - according to Justin and my Aunt Joy that makes her a bullador) and her collar (and leash) are indeed pink!
Note: After looking online, a bullador is a true hybrid breed that dog breeders are actively pursuing and selling. Looks like we got ourselves an expensive free dog!! : )
